The Statistics, Economics and Applications (SEA) track offers students a specialisation centred on the quantitative analysis of economic and social phenomena. It trains experts able to draw on statistical and econometric tools to inform public policy, regional development and the strategies of organisations.
The curriculum covers both advanced methods of data collection and processing (surveys, sampling, big data) and key fields of application such as poverty measurement, sectoral statistics, monitoring and evaluation of the SDGs, and financial and monetary analysis.
Combining theory with professional practice through projects and internships, the track prepares graduates to join statistical institutes, government departments, consultancies and international development organisations.
Careers
The track leads to roles as a statistical studies officer, economic analyst, survey officer or public policy evaluation officer. Graduates are sought by statistical institutes, government departments, consultancies, international organisations and the research units of banks and insurance companies.
