The Higher Institute of Statistical Professions of the Nouakchott Polytechnic Group held a lecture on "How the state budget is prepared", given by Dr Saadbouh Regad, professor at the University of Nouakchott Al Asriya, adviser to the Minister of Finance and former budget director.
The talk led to a substantial discussion with students. The adviser confirmed that no statistician is unemployed in Mauritania, and stressed the important role of statistical professionals in the country's development.
The Institute's first cohort is due to graduate at the end of the year.
