The Higher Institute of Statistics (ISS) is part of the Nouakchott Polytechnic Group and specialises in training statistician-economists. It takes students holding a mathematics baccalaureate and trains them in statistics, economics and computing.
On completing the programme, graduates specialise in the collection, processing and analysis of economic, demographic, health, agricultural, social and other data.
ISS aims to make statistics the central tool of decision-making in Mauritania.
