The graduation ceremony of the first cohort of the Higher Institute of Statistical Professions, part of the Polytechnic Group, was held under the auspices of His Excellency the Minister of National Defence, Hanana Ould Sidi, accompanied by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mohamed Lemine Ould Aboye Ould Cheikh El Hadrami, together with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armies, Major General Mokhtar Bellah Chaabane, and the commander of the Polytechnic Group, Colonel-Engineer Mohamed Ould Mohamed Mahmoud.
Twenty-five students received the professional bachelor's degree in statistics, after three years of intensive, high-level training built around statistics, economics and computing.
Such a body of graduates is a valuable contribution to meeting the shortage of statistics and data science professionals the country faces.
